THIEVES strategy - strategies for reading non-fiction texts. Students then completed a worksheet that had them looking up synonyms using a thesaurus. We discussed how to use a thesaurus and synonyms. We then discussed what artifacts the students would put into a time capsule of their 9th grade year. We discussed what the students found and what types of things go into a museum. Students explored the Natural History Museum via the virtual tour the museum has provided.
